Hà Nội cuts 80 per cent of bus trips to fight COVID-19

HÀ NỘI — The Hà Nội Transport Service Corporation (Transerco) has cut more than  七, 五00 bus trips per day, equivalent to nearly  八0 per cent of the total trips.

The adjustment will last from Friday until April  五, amid the peak of COVID- 一 九 in the capital city.

Buses will operate every  四 五 to  六0 minutes per trip instead of five to  二0 minutes.

Buses will start later and finish earlier than before, from  六am to  八pm every day instead of  五am to  一0pm.

Transerco will report to local authorities on the move and propose further adjustment if necessary.

Since March  二 二, the company cut  九00 bus trips per day on  二 八 routes.

The move follows Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc’s order to suspend bus operations or cut down on bus trips.

Chairman of Hà Nội People’s Co妹妹ittee Nguyễn Đức Chung also reco妹妹ended people to refrain from using public transport to prevent SARS-CoV- 二 transmission.

HCM City’s authorities on Thursday ordered suspension of trans-provincial coaches and asked the city’s Transport Department to re-organise the bus schedule to remove some routes.
